SUMMARY:Canada Day
DESCRIPTION:The national day of Canada \nOriginally called Dominion Day and was renamed in 1982 \nOften referred to as Canada’s Birthday \nCanada Day is observed on July 1st unless that date falls on a Sunday\, in which case July 2nd \nTraditions include bonfires\, fireworks\, illuminations\, excursions\, military displays\, music\, and entertainment \nIn 2022 festivities will return being re-located from Parlement Hill to Lebreton Flats \nErin O’Toole criticized calls to cancel Canada Day celebrations because he was “concerned that injustices in our past or in  the present are too often seized upon by a small group of activist voices who use it to attack the very idea of Canada itself”\, and that “the road to reconciliation\, the road to equality\, the road to inclusion\, does not involve tearing Canada down.”
